CitCom.ai, present at La Harinera for the Valencia Urban Sandbox event

On Monday 24th of November, the IDAL's (Intelligent Data Analysis Laboratory) research team from the University of Valencia, as a partner in the European CitCom.ai project, was present at La Harinera – Las Naves space in Valencia to attend the very special conference about the Urban Sandbox in Valencia, organised by Valencia Innovation Capital (Valencia City Council).

The event allowed us, as a research team dedicated to the development of Artificial Intelligence solutions, to explore first-hand the possibilities offered by the Valencia Urban Sandbox, a pioneering space that has now been in operation for a year and is establishing itself not only as a key experimental environment for innovation in the city, but also as a point of reference at European level.

Eleven innovation proposals

In addition, during the event we were privileged to witness the presentation of eleven innovation project proposals developed by the Technology Institutes (IITT) of the Valencian Community integrated into REDIT, which use this real-life testing ground offered by the Valencia Urban Sandbox during the development of their innovative services in its different phases (research, product validation, etc.).

All of them were also geared towards the same purpose that we share at Citcom.ai: to move towards a more sustainable and people-centred city, in this case Valencia, through digital channels.

Lastly, beyond the presentation of all the interesting proposals, there were additional interesting interventions both at the beginning and end of the event. These shared different visions of the Urban Sandbox as a tool for innovation and highlighted its current and future importance in the smart transformation of the city.

For us, attending the event was very inspiring and allowed us to see and reflect on the many uses we can make of this great tool for our research within the Citcom.ai project.
