LLMthon Legal 2026: the hackathon, organised with the collaboration of Citcom.ai, that brings together law and AI.

The research team behind the Citcom.ai project at the University of Valencia is organising LLMthon Legal 2026 this February: a pioneering hackathon that proposes an innovative and increasingly relevant challenge: applying the potential of Artificial Intelligence, and in particular Large Language Models (LLMs), to solving real legal problems.

Conceived as a legal hackathon, LLMthon Legal 2026 invites participants to rethink legal practice in a context marked by digital transformation. Over several days, participating teams will work on complex legal challenges based on real cases, with access to specific documentation and advanced AI tools. In a limited time, they will have to research, analyse and develop innovative solutions, testing both their legal skills and their ability to integrate LLMs into the legal reasoning process.

Multi-day hybrid hackathon

The competition will take place on three key dates. On the 16th of February, the challenges and associated documentation will be officially presented to the participating groups. The deadline for teams to submit their proposals is the 18th of February. Finally, on the 19th of February, there will be an in-person conference dedicated to Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia (Tarongers Campus), where the finalist teams will present their solutions and the results will be discussed. Throughout the process, participants will be accompanied by industry experts, promoting practical and applied learning on the use of LLMs in the legal field.

The mechanics of the event are simple: interested parties must register to receive all the information; they will access the challenge on the specified date; they will develop their proposal combining legal knowledge and artificial intelligence; and finally, they will present their solution to a panel of experts, who will evaluate the proposals. All the detailed information and the registration form are available on the event's official website: LLMthon Legal 2026.

LLMthon Legal 2026 is coordinated by the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Valencia and its Intelligent Data Analysis Laboratory (IDAL), the UV Faculty of Law, the Minsait-UV Legal Tech & AI Chair, and the Citcom.ai research team at the University of Valencia. This interdisciplinary collaboration reinforces the pioneering nature of the event and its commitment to building real bridges between technology, law and society.
